Jennifer Maslin (née Holton) is currently based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and teaches peripatetically at Fordcombe Primary School and Walthamstow School for Girls in Sevenoaks. She teaches private lessons and also a number of primary school choirs.
Jennifer graduated in 2005 with a First in German and Music at Southampton University and studied classical vocal performance under Christine Page. Since then she gained a diploma in vocal performance in 2006 and has worked as a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher for two years. By combining the experience she gained in the classroom with her existing vocal skills she teaches singing with an enthusiastic and fresh approach.
In 2004 Jennifer studied at Hamburg University, where she enjoyed learning to sing German Lieder under Tom Schmidt's guidance and performed in Hamburg's Musikhalle with the Hamburg University Choir.
Jennifer has sung jazz in various venues in Southampton and Tunbridge Wells and plays violin and piano (both also to grade 8 level).
She has taken part in a number of choirs, including the Southampton University Chamber Choir and Jazzmanix Jazz and Gospel Choir, with whom she toured Barcelona. With Jazzmanix she has sung solos in a number of interesting venues including a local church, Winchester Prison and even a shopping mall!
Jennifer now regularly performs with Paul Dunton at his acoustic night on Sunday and Wednesday nights at the Grey Lady, the Pantiles. As a band they have toured across the South East.
